Choosing Art with Desenio

October 26, 2020 by alice Leave a Comment

I love to fill my home with art as I believe it really helps to bring a room together and transform a blank, boring wall into a good vibe. I’m not quite sophisticated (or rich) enough to invest in ‘proper’ art so love the flexibility that affordable artwork gives me – as I’m able to swap out my prints regularly to suit my ever evolving style.

Desenio has been one of my favourite spots to pick up prints for a number of years, so I was delighted when they asked to collaborate with me on this blog post. Their website is full to the brim with every sort of print style you could imagine, from beautiful landscapes, iconic photographs and plenty of abstract or vintage style prints to choose from. They have a number of sizes available in each print meaning that you can really customise the art to suit your space, and they also have a great ‘gallery wall’ section which provides inspiration for how to really take advantage of a lot of blank space in your home.

As someone whose striving to live a more sustainably focused life, I’m happy to report that Desenio also holds sustainability close to their heart and are an FSC® certified company, which means that the trees used in the production of their art prints are harvested in a responsible way that provides environmental, social and economic benefits for everyone involved. For every tree used, Desenio plant two more.

Given most of the world is working from home at the moment, I wanted to update my office space with some fresh artwork to pep the place up and make me enjoy sitting in there (day in and day out!) a little more. I chose some fun prints that were a little quirky but fit well with the colour accents in the room. I love the pairing of the Dazed* poster (which matches the mustard pops in the room perfectly) with this super cool Kicking Back* print (Michael Jackson vibes anyone?).

To contrast with these prints, I chose this Texture Line Hands* print which is much softer than some of the other prints I chose but works really well in this corner of the room and I love the way it intertwines with the hand ornament I have and trailing plant.

I’m a huge fan of Matisse but can safely say I’ll never come close to owning one of his pieces, so settled on this beautiful print instead. I love how it looks in the corner of our bedroom and helps to give a slightly more masculine feel to a room that’s quite feminine with it’s fresh white bedding and brass touches.

If you fancy giving your place a bit of an art refresh, then I’m pleased to share that Desenio have provided me with a 25% discount code for you to use until midnight, October 29th (code does not apply on accessories or handpicked personalised prints). To view the rest of the prints I ordered, check this link. The discount code is TEAPARTY.
