Hello July! It feels like only yesterday that I was writing my June goals, but here we are – another month behind us. It’s winter in Melbourne so things have been pretty chilly compared to the lovely warm weather back in London. I do find myself missing home a little more at the moment, the way London feels in the summer is the best but I’m actually enjoying the cooler weather here. June was a good month for me, I achieved 75% of my goals (haven’t booked our honeymoon yet) but I’ve happily ticked off the rest. We have some of Jack’s family visiting in a couple of weeks which will be really fun as we haven’t seen them since Christmas and it will be the highlight of our month as otherwise things are set to be pretty admin heavy.
01 // I have a couple of health related goals this month. Mainly to book in a cervical screening and also a skin check. I’m not sure what the process is for getting a cervical screening in Australia (it’s every 2 years in the UK) but I’m definitely due as my last was in the UK and probably over 3 years ago. Cervical screenings are SO important, so I’m making it my priority to book that in and not let another month slip by without prioritising it. In terms of the skin check, I’ve never actually had a mole check before, but now that I live in Australia and am exposed to a lot more sunshine (and much stronger at that), I also want to make sure that I’m regularly having my skin checked.
02 // Speaking of admin, much of our free time this month will be spent putting our application together for my Partner Visa that needs to be submitted by the end of the year. It’s a really lengthy and expensive process, but important for us to do as we are very happy living here at the moment and want to be able to stay. There is so much required by way of forms, statements and heaps of evidence – and I’m having to reach out to friends and family to help, but it should be worth it in the end! Hopefully I can get it finished by the end of the month, but I’m equally trying not to put too much pressure on myself.
03 // My husband and I were chatting this weekend and we realised that we’ve really fallen off the bandwagon with having regular date nights. We used to try and have a date night weekly (taking it in turns to organise) but have found, particularly now that it’s cold outside, that we’re often opting to sit in and watch Netflix instead of going out. We agreed that we’re going to prioritise having a monthly date night instead – but just make it more of an event. It doesn’t have to be super extravagant each time, but even if we just head into the city for cocktails and dinner – it’s important for us to make sure we’re not just sitting at home like an old married couple (which we basically are now) and getting out and having some fun together!
What are your goals for the month?
It’s so easy to fall into the habit of cosy nights in when winter hits! Best of luck with your health checks xx
So easy!! Thanks lovely x

It’s so easy to fall out of the habit right? Particularly when going outside isn’t that appealing (although we were fairly guilty of it in the warmer months too). Really going to make sure we make the effort! xx
I like that you are willing to share your personal goals with your readers, it is so inspiring!
