June Goals

June 3, 2019 by alice Leave a Comment

I cannot quite fathom that we are already 6 months into 2019 – honestly where does the time go? Even though its absolutely whizzed by, it’s been a great year for me so far as you may have seen that I got married last month – YAY!! Although we eloped which meant it was a pretty low stress event, it was taking up a lot of the space in my brain and now that the day is over I’m left with part sadness (wedding blues are a thing even when you elope) but also a sense of elation that I have a clear mind again. As I’ve been blogging again consistently (and loving it), I thought I’d bring back my monthly goals/round up posts – let’s see if I can keep them up for the rest of the year.

01 // Now that we’re Mr and Mrs and all the wedding hype is over, we’re looking to book in our honeymoon and get something on the calendar to look forward to again. As my family are back in Europe, we’re hoping to do a 3 week trip where we spend part of the time celebrating with family and friends and part of the time exploring some more cities in Europe. We’re likely going to go at the end of the year so it will be chilly in Europe, but my husband and I really love exploring cities so a winter adventure will be equally romantic. We haven’t done a huge amount of research yet, but Amsterdam is already on the list as he has never been and I’ve not been since I was about 12.

02 // Post wedding and now that winter has hit Melbourne, it’s time for me to hibernate a little (more!) and give myself a bit of self-love. I’ve never been good at getting massages and facials regularly, but I’ve one of each booked in this month and I really want to try to keep up the momentum. I’m so excited to have a facial this week – I’m in love with the salon I go to (The Hive) and whilst I’m generally happy with my skin (with the exception of hormonal breakouts) I can’t wait for my facialist to give me some guidance and also just an hour of zen.

03 // I’ve been doing this for a while, but I’m trying to spend less time on my phone. Rather than forcing a huge digital detox on myself, I try to just spend less time on my phone (where possible) so that I can just enjoy time with my husband relaxing. I found I was spending far too much time mindlessly scrolling Instagram or sat on WhatsApp and I hated the amount of time I was wasting. Obviously I still use my phone and social media and I’m not on any sort of ban, it’s more about me trying to be a bit more controlled about it and more present in my own life, rather than everybody elses.

04 // We received our wedding photos back last week and are so delighted with how they turned out. We’re not really big on having pictures of ourselves around our home, so with the exception of the odd photo popped on a shelf, I’ve decided to create a beautiful photo book with all of our favourite moments in so that it’s available for us/our guests to flick through whenever we fancy – I just need to make sure I keep it out of reach of my naughty dogs. I’m still deciding on which company I want to purchase through, but I’m loving the look of these Rosemood books which are beautiful and really timeless looking.

What are your goals for the month?
