Thankfully, the days of having to endure plain and boring makeup brushes are behind us, with the arrival of brands such as Real Techniques, Zoeva and Spectrum Brushes who’ve made it their mission to create brushes as pretty as they are functional.
I’ve seen a lot of Twitter hype on Spectrum brushes over the last few months, but chose to sit it out – until I saw their Marbelous Contour Set and was immediately drawn in by the brushes’ beautiful rose gold and white design.
The brush set comes with 4 brushes all designed to help you achieve your perfect base – from applying foundation, powder, contouring and highlighting. The set contains a Flat Top Buffer and Domed Buffer which can be used to apply and blend cream, liquid or powder foundations. The brushes have super soft bristles which means that the foundation can be buffed lightly into the skin for a beautifully even finish that can be left lighter or built up for a fuller coverage.
The Tulip Powder and Angled Powder brushes are, as their name suggests, for use with powder to help finish your base. I tend to use the Angled Powder brush to add definition to my cheekbones and use the tapered tip of the Tulip Powder brush to apply a light contour to the rest of my face.
These brushes are lovely and a very welcome addition to my collection. I’m not sure I’d say they were better than Zoeva brushes, but they come a close second and are equally as pretty. This set costs £34.99 and can be picked up online here.
I've never tried these brushes but for starters they look so pleasing to look at! x

I love the look of these but I'm a zoeva lover now, they've taken over my love for Real Techniques. I'd love to try these to see how they compare though. I love the mermaid collection.

I am so tempted by these brushes as they look so pretty and I am in need of them. I was worried they may feel cheap and not good quality but that doesn't seem to be the case 🙂 xo

Ooo these are lovely. You're right we went from having no pretty brushes to there suddenly being so many to choose from. The struggle is real!!!

Cute-looking and functional, sounds perfect to me! I have never tried these, I'm currently in love with my Zoeva ones still. These look really soft though!

These are beaut! I love my Chanel and Bobbi Brown brushes but the more affordable ones are just so pretty! I have a real problem in that I cannot stop buying Real Techniques (HOW gorgeous was the bold metals collection?!?) but am ashamed to say I have no Zoeva or Spectrum yet! May just have to hunt these down now.
