Admittedly this post is a little late, as December is nearly over and with it disappears the advent calendar tradition for another year. However as I was only surprised with Charlotte Tilbury’s The Book of Magic advent calendar a week ago (by my lovely boyfriend) I still wanted to share my thoughts on it so far incase you’ve got your eye on it for Christmas 2016.
The Book of Makeup Magic is a book of 12 best-kept beauty secrets, beautifully presented in 12 mini makeup cabinets. I’m only 7 days in but am already delighted with what I’ve received so far. The products are all minis, but some are a generous size that will without a doubt last me for some time. I like the way the products I’ve opened have all subtly followed a theme, starting with skin care (Goddess Skin Clay Mask, Magic Cream and Wonder Glow), eyes (On The Prowl Eyeshadow and Supernova Rock ‘n’ Kohl eyeliner) and then lips (Lip Magic balm and a K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick).
I was already a big fan of Charlotte Tilbury, so this calendar was a no brainer for me. It goes without saying that this (like so many other beauty calendars) is incredibly costly, so not something that’s financially accessible to all. However, it is something I would recommend if you do have the funds to spare. I had the Selfridges Calendar last year which I enjoyed, but this Charlotte Tilbury offering is already much better despite it only having half the days.
Charlotte Tilbury’s Book of Makeup Magic costs £150 and is now sold out, however I’m hopeful that something similar will appear in 2016 – and if it does, I highly recommend it.
Oooh you lucky girl, I have one of the CT skincare sets on my Christmas wishlist as I would love to try the magic cream, hopefully Santa comes through 🙂

I had the Tanya Burr Deck The Hauls beauty advent calendar this year, I was pleasantly surprised with it being a 'cheaper' beauty calendar the products you get are fab. I'm definitely hoping to get the CT Beauty calendar next year although there have been so many nice ones this year I think it's going to be hard to choose.

Ever since I first spotted this calendar I have loved the look of it. It is a great way to try some of Charlotte Tilbury's products without breaking the bank, but I'm not sure I could justify spending that much in one go even if it is awesome value for money. I'll be interested to read what you think of everything.

I wish my bank account would support this buy haha! I love the idea of a beauty calendar, and I've also never tried CT – so would be an amazing way to introduce myself to the brand! Overall the calendar just looks like a dream x

You're so lucky! I wanted to get this so badly but I was worried I wouldn't like some of the products and it's a lot of money to invest if I end up only liking a couple of things out of it aha!

I was so tempted to pick this up until I saw how small it was which really put me off, I'd rather just buy a few full size products for the same price but its a ice idea all the same x
