Blogging at this time of year is without question more of a challenge. As I work full time I’m lucky to see daylight hours, which means I have to be organised at the weekend to make sure I can keep on top of my (albeit vague) blog schedule.
My desk is one of my favourite areas in my room, I’ve written about it before and I get a lot of pleasure from sitting and looking out of the window at the garden below. Whilst I’ve never lost my motivation to blog, my desk was fast becoming a refuge for beauty products which meant that it felt cluttered and I felt a lot less inspired.
I decided this weekend to reorganise my space so that I could approach blogging with a new lease of life. As I need to take all my photos in the natural light at the weekends, creating an open, fresh space has helped both to physically and mentally declutter my mind. I surround the space with some of my favourite things – which means it’s laden with books and candles and is a place I automatically feel comfortable, and inspired.
If you’re struggling to find the motivation to blog at this time of year, I’d definitely recommend trying to reorganise your workspace – it’s really helped give me a kick into gear.
I should do that.. I'm struggling with free time as well, and now that I've started posting twice a week, it can be a challenge. My desk is definitely cluttered 😀 so I'm going to have to take up on your advice 🙂 thank you for the great post xx

I'm also really strugging with getting any decent photo's in the daylight and maybe it would help to un clutter my desk in order for me to work better! xx

You have such a lovely desk area – I'm struggling to find motivation to be honest and the lighting this time of year just doesn't help!

I'm struggling with blogging a lot lately, something which is making it difficult is my work space. Having only my desk to sit and write at becomes very boring, making my motivation to write very dull. Time to spruce up my bedroom & desk to make a change to my blogging attitude 🙂

Most often than not I'm found on the sofa, laptop in hand but it's killing my knees and back (how much of an old girl do I sound!). I'm actually creating a desk area in my living room at the moment and that too will look out of a window. Unfortunately I'm still waiting for the desk to arrive so I can finish creating my blogging space!

I love blogging at my desk. I can plan my posts almost everywhere but I only write right here. I wish I could create such a lovely space to take great pictures for my blog. Unfortunately, the windows in my flat don´t catch that much light, so I´m always out and about taking pictures as long as the daylight holds.
Your workspace looks very lovely!

I totally agree it is a lot harder to be motivated to blog during the winter months. The lighting drive me crazy as I don't always get the best opportunities with working shifts and if I'm working an early shift by the time I get home the lighting is gone at 3 o'clock. I've tried to start being a little more pro active so when I do get decent lighting I try to take as many pictures as possible.
Wonderful post, I currently don't have a desk area to blog at but I think this is a great idea and would help me become more focused and concentrate more as when I'm in the living room with my laptop it's hard to get distracted by the television and truly focus.

Taking photos is such a chore this time of the year… Even though it's 12pm it seems to be extremely dark in Finland so it doesn't even make much of a difference when I take mine :(. Hopefully the sun will come out a bit soon!
Had to mention, I love the Deliciously Ella cookbook :Dx
