Things I Wish I Could Tell My Younger Self

July 18, 2014 by alice 5 Comments

Be Yourself
Do not to be scared of being different.  Those that can’t learn to accept you for who you are simply aren’t worth the time, no matter what you think of them. Those that stay by your side are the ones to trust.
Be Grateful
You can be anything you want in your life, but you should never be ungrateful. Be a dreamer but be grateful for what you have and who gave it to you.
Say Yes
If you’re not willing to look stupid, nothing great will ever happen to you. Learn to stop saying no to those things you’re afraid of and say yes to the adventures that await you. Take advantage of opportunities as they present themselves, because some don’t come around very often.
Be Strong
No matter what, one day someone will hurt you. Though with every tear comes a life lesson – be strong enough to stand alone and be brave enough to reach out and ask for help. Fortune favours the brave.
It’s OK to say No.
There’s nothing wrong with changing your mind sometimes, it’s good to know what you want and set boundaries – it’ll only help you in the long run.
Learn To Hurt
Some of life’s most important lessons and times of personal growth happen after a fight with a friend, your parents, or a breakup. Learning to embrace those times will only benefit you – always remember “this too shall pass’.
What would you tell your younger self?

I agree with all of these, I would tell myself to go on adventures as well, enjoy being young, and not worry as much! 🙂

Great post, I did something similar a while back when I was feeling a little nostalgic. There are so many things I want to tell myself but I think the main one would be to be true to myself! That was a lesson that took me years to learn!
