Gone are the days where my evening skincare routine consists of a casual wipe across the face, and instead, my evenings are filled with my must-have products that leave my skin feeling squeaky clean, moisturised and in tip top condition.
My evening and morning skincare rituals differ, as I tend to use a hot cloth cleanser in the shower in the morning but don't generally have the discipline to do so in the evening. As such, here are my current evening skincare favourites...
1) First I use my Nivea Double Effect Eye Make-Up Remover on some small cotton pads to gently remove my eye makeup. I have only recently introduced this into my makeup routine as I didn't feel my micellar water was removing my mascara with huge ease and I wanted something that wouldn't involve me tugging too hard on my peepers. I've really enjoyed this eye makeup remover as it's a dual-formula oil based solution, so glides easily over my lids. It does leave a bit of an oily residue behind, so if you have oily skin it might not be ideal for you.
2) Once my eyes no longer resemble a panda's, it's time to remove the rest of my makeup. I don't like to use my Nivea Eye Makeup Remover anywhere else on my face because of it's oily residue, so I use the L'Oreal 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution which I've been using for a few months and am already on my third bottle. This removes my makeup with real ease, and helps my face feel really fresh and clean afterwards.
3) Next up, is my Skinetica Anti Blemish Solution which I've raved about before here. I absolutely love this stuff, it really helps with blemishes, scarring and the overall appearance of my skin tone. I only use a little of this depending on whether I have blemishes, and just swipe it over my face with a cotton pad.
4) Finally, it's time to moisturise. I'm totally obsessed with the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask as I was really suffering with dry skin recently and knew I needed to introduce a really good moisturiser into my routine. The first time I used this mask, my skin was plump, totally moisturised and positively glowing the next morning - I honestly felt like my pores said thank you as I looked in the mirror. I don't use this every day, as it's quite thick, but I use it about twice a week, and then on the other days I just use it on the dryer areas of my face (around my nose etc).
Whilst my skincare routine is always a work in progress, I've really enjoyed using the above products and finally feel like I've found a combination that works for me!
